A vehicle body panel (10) that is formed in part by a blow molding process (Figure 11). Attachments (30,40) may be assembled to openings formed by cutting off part of a blow molded body (126). Alternatively, attachments such as seals (82) may be secured to peripheral portions of the blow molded body (10). The method of making a vehicle body panel includes blow molding (116) all or a substantial portion of the vehicle body panel (10) and then securing attachments (30,40) to openings formed on the blow molded body (10) or to peripheral portions of the blow molded body (10).
