When the printing operation of a printer 2 is restricted during the execution of a print job including print data of a plurality of pages, an image processing apparatus of the invention executes a retreat mode for storing image data obtained by developing the print data of the subsequent pages in which the printing operation has been restricted into an image memory. When a status to be restricted is cancelled, the printing operation is restarted by using the image data retreated into the image memory.
