The invention concerns a support device for a cutting tool, in particular a hedge-clipper (9) comprising a support (2) whereon is arranged a counterweight (5) linked to the cutting tool (6) via a set of pulleys (3) and a rope (4). The invention is characterised in that each of the pulleys (3) is integral with a single arm (1) extending substantially horizontally mounted freely rotatable and vertically slidable inside said support (2), said support (2) being furthermore mounted integral with mobile means (7).
