The lining (24) of the motor vehicle's door consists of a metal sheet with its upper edge (50) bent downwards so as to hang on the reinforcing profile (30) of the window channel. The upper edge of the door lining may be attached to the reinforcing profile by adhesive, for example, or may be detachably connected to it. A seal (64) is provided between the bent down edge of the door lining and window channel reinforcing profile. Independent claims are included for a motor vehicle's door lining, for a window seal, and for a procedure for the fitting of an external door lining on the door of a motor vehicle.
