A crown (12) fixed to the top of a bridge base (16) is normally held in position by the friction caused between the inner surface of the crown and the outer surface of the bridge construction. The new design of a crown (12) for a dental bridge is provided with a base (24) accommodated in the hollow space at the bottom of the artificial tooth (12). The base (24) is clamped onto the bridge (16) and held in position by at least one elastic retention element (47), located at the inner surface (40, 42, 44) of the base (24) which engages with a recess (48) provided at the outer surface of the bridge construction (16).
