The invention discloses a new polypeptide- zinc finger protein 8.8, the polynucleotide encoding said polypeptide, and a process for producing the polypeptide by recombinant DNA technology. It also discloses methods of applying the polypeptide for the treatment of various diseases, such as fetation abnormality, tumor, protein metabolism disorder disease, etc. This invention also discloses antagonist against said polypeptide and thereof therapy uses. In addition, it refers to the use of said polynucleotide encoding this new zinc finger protein 8.8.
