The pressure in an underpressure store of a pneumatically operated servo system is controlled by a method wherein the underpressure store is charged with an underpressure via suction line. A higher desired pressure for the underpressure store is pregiven in a rest state of the servo system wherein the system is not actuated and no actuation is expected. A lower desired pressure for the underpressure store is preset in a state wherein the servo system is actuated or an actuation is expected.
