The invention concerns a flame-retardant composition comprising: 100 parts of a constituent A including: 15 to 80, preferably 35 to 50, parts by weight of at least a polyol having an average functionality higher than 2 and a Brookfield viscosity measured at 25 °C less than 10000 mPa's; 5 to 80, preferably 15 to 50, parts by weight of an intumescent system; 0 to 60, preferably 10 to 40, parts by weight of mineral fillers; 0 to 10, preferably 0 to 5, parts by weight of additives; 10 to 60, preferably 15 to 30, parts by weight of a constituent B including: at least a polyisocyanate having a functionality not less than 2 and a Brookfield viscosity measured at 25 °C ranging between 20 mPa's and 45000 mPa's. By simply mixing constituents A and B, an intumescent polyurethane is obtained. The invention is applicable to electrical insulation with excellent heat shield properties.
|
