<p>A method for producing lactic acid using food garbage which comprises the first cycle (SC) comprising the steps of (a-1) charging a batch of food garbage to a first fermentation tank, (b-1) maintaining the temperature within the first fermentation tank at a level which allows sterilization, (c-1) carrying out a fermentation in the fermentation tank having experienced the step (b-1) by microbes to reduce the amount of lactic acid in the fermentation tank, (d-1) carrying out a lactic acid fermentation in the fermentation tank having experienced the step (c-1), (e-1) recovering the lactic acid produced by the lactic acid fermentation from the fermentation tank, and (f-1) charging another batch of food garbage to the first fermentation tank to repeat the steps from (a-1), and the second cycle (SC) comprising steps of (a-2) to (f-2), which are substantially the same as the corresponding steps of the first SC, wherein the operation of the step (a-2) of the second SC starts later than that of the step (a-1) of the first, microbes used for the fermentation in the step (c-2) are supplied from the fermentation solution produced through the fermentation by microbes used in the step (c-1) and microbes undergoing the lactic acid fermentation in the step (d-2) are supplied from the fermentation solution produced through the lactic acid fermentation carried out in the step (d-1).</p> |
