The inner trim of the motor vehicle, in the area of which an airbag module is to be located, has a first design break line and a decorative strip. The airbag module lies behind the decorative strip (10) which in the region of the first break line has its own corresponding design break line (14) which is in the form of a tear seam on the non-visible side of the decorative strip. The height (h1) of the decorative strip corresponds to the height (h2) of the airbag module, or may be smaller or larger than this height.
