<p>A process for optimizing the vibration damping of parts comprises the following essential steps: the part to be analyzed and optimized is suspended and isolated acoustically, while the part is excited at one point and the points of the maximum of vibrational response are determined by scanning the vibrational response of each area element of said part. Subsequently, a vibration damping material is applied only in said areas of maximum vibrational response. This allows a cost effective use of highly efficient damping materials only in the essential areas of the part to be dampened.</p> |
