A head-light for motor vehicle has at least one sensor (13) comprising at least one transmission- and reception-element for transmitting and/or receiving signal waves. The head-light also includes a separation device (14) for separating the beam-path of the transmission element from that of the reception element of the optical sensor (13), especially for measurement of the spacing from the vehicle ahead on the road.
