<p>A cleaning wet sheet (1) which comprises an aqueous-liquid-holding layer (4) comprising a polymeric substance containing an aqueous liquid and layers (2) and (9) containing an agent which functions to release the aqueous liquid from the polymeric substance, wherein the aqueous-liquid-holding layer (4) and the agent-containing layers (2) and (9) have been formed and/or disposed in such a state that under no load the polymeric substance does not substantially come into contact with the agent and that under a given load the agent comes into contact with the polymeric substance and functions to slowly release the aqueous liquid from the polymeric substance.</p>
