The single track vehicle has an internal combustion engine (3) with at least one inlet valve located above at least one exhaust valve. The exhaust valve is operated by means of a rocker lever, and the inlet valve is operated directly by an overhead camshaft. The valves are inclined to each other in V-form and an induction passage leads between the valves to the cylinder (5). The vehicle has a continuously variable gearbox with a first transmission shaft connecting to the crankshaft, and with a second transmission shaft mounted in the cylinder block of the engine and upon which is mounted a centrifugal clutch.
