An apparatus and method for continously removing polymer from a pressurized loop olefin polymerization reactor containing a slurry of polymer particles and fluids. The slurry is continuously discharged from polymer-rich zones of the reactor and enters one or a series of non-cyclonic flash vessels, in which the particles separate from the fluid. The flash vessel has a conical bottom in which a minimum level of polymer is maintained for a dynamic seal between the inlet and outlet.
