The present invention discloses a novel polypeptide - human matabotropic type 3 glutamate receptor (mGluR3) 11.66 and a polynucleotide encoding the same, as well as a method of producing the polypeptide by DNA recombinant technique. The present invention also discloses methods of using the polypeptide in treatment of various disease, such as neural disease, psychogenic disease, disease associated with disturbance of glutamate metabolism, developmental distrubance and so on. The present invention also discloses an antagonist against the polypeptide and the therapeutic use of the same. The present invention also discloses the use of such polynucleotide encoding human metabotropic type 3 glutamate receptor (mGlrR3) 11.66.
