A metering device (70) for a container (30), as seen in Figure 2, and a process for withdrawing and pouring out predetermined amount of liquid from a reservoir (30), consisting of: (a) withdrawing a predetermined measure (Vd) of liquid to be poured and a surplus (Vs) of liquid from a reservoir (30), (b) utilizing the surplus liquid (Vs) to guarantee complete filling of the metering chamber (22); (c) and separating the surplus liquid (Vs) from the measure (Vd) of liquid simultaneously with the pouring-out of the measure of liquid (Vd).
