An aperture lamp assembly (2) is provided which includes first and second sleeves (24, 26) which enclose an elongated lamp (8). Also included is structure for electrically connecting the lamp (8) to a power source (32). Such structure can include a ballast circuit (6') contained in a ballast housing (6), the ballast circuit being electrically connected between the lamp (8) and the power source (32), and the ballast housing (6) being mechanically attached to the sleeves (24, 26). In one embodiment, the sleeves (24, 26) and ballast housing are metal, the metal sleeves serving to conduct electricity between the lamp (8) and the ballast circuit (6'). An aperture lamp (4) and aperture lamp housing (24, 26) is also provided. |
