A network termination unit comprises a back plate (10) having first terminals (12) for connection of the twisted pair (13) of a first line, and second terminals (14) for connection of the twisted pair (15) of a second line. To the back plate (10) is detachably secured a front plate (19) having a multi-way socket outlet (23) connected to the first terminals (12) and the second terminals (14), and a multi-way strip (24) also connected to the first terminals (12) and the second terminals (14), whereby the socket outlet (23) and the strip (24) provide for connection to both the first and second lines.
