The invention provides powdered crosslinkable textile binder compositions for producing polymer bonded textile moldings or sheet materials, comprising a) a powdered mixed polymer obtained by emulsion polymerization and subsequent drying of at least monomer being selected from the group consisting of vinyl ester, acrylic acid esters, methacrylic acid esters, vinyl aromatics and vinyl chloride and 0.01 to 25 percent by weight, based on the total weight of the mixed polymer, of one or more ethylenically unsaturated monomer containing a carboxylic group, whereby the mixed polymer has a glass transition temperature Tg or a melting point greater than 40 degC and a molecular weight Mw ranging within 60,000 to 300,000, and b) 0,1 to 25 percent by weight, based on the total weight of the mixed polymer, of at least one powdered compound having two or more epoxide or isocyanate groups and a melting point in the range of 40 to 150 degC. In the present invention there is also claimed a process for preparing polymer bonded textile moldings or sheet parts made of fibrous materials. |
