A pharmaceutical label sheet (figure 1) 1 comprises an arrangement of labels 2, each of which is individually coded, this is preferably using colour 8 or bar codes 7. When used the labels 2 are removed from a backing sheet and added to syringe for example, the backing sheet may contain indicia equivalent to that on the face of the label 2, preferably the labels 2 are arranged on the sheet 1 in order of use so that a record of what pharmaceutical has been or has not been used in an operation procedure for example, is provided. A container preferably a syringe includes graduations thereon, the graduations being weight based and being indicative of the dilution required for a known amount of a pharmaceutical to be administered from the container. A label (fig 2) 11 includes weight based graduations thereon, that can be applied to a container such as a syringe so that the volume of diluent which needs to be added can be calculated using the label on the container. A combination label (fig 4) has a primary label 30 which can be placed on a first container and a secondary removable label 31 so that the secondary label can be removed from the primary label 30 and placed on a second container that contains the same pharmaceutical as the first container.
