PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an agent for controlling harmful organisms, which is effective to harmful inspects having resistance to the conventional Bt agents, and has such as activity to harmful coleopteran insects, and a method for controlling the harmful insects using the agent. SOLUTION: This protein that has an insecticidal activity and serves as an active ingredient for an agent for controlling harmful insects is produced by a new microorganism Bacillus thuringiensis serovar galleriae strain SDS502. The 2nd objective protein that is modified by adding, deleting or substituting amino acids to, from or in the amino acid sequence constituting the protein, and has a similar insecticidal activity is provided. The 3rd objective DNA encodes each protein. The 4th objective microorganism transformed using the DNA is provided. The 5th objective plant and seed transformed using the DNA are provided. The 6th objective an agent for controlling harmful organisms is provided. The other objective method for controlling harmful insects comprises using the microorganism, plant, or seed thereof. |
