PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To surely lock front wheels even if the front wheels are still steered by returning them to a straight advancing state with an auxiliary arm put down to an acting attitude in a riding rice transplanter provided with a steering lock mechanism for fixing a pitman arm in a straight advancing state by putting down the auxiliary arm installed at the front of the machine body in a manner capable of putting it up and down to the acting attitude. SOLUTION: This transplanter is so structured that the pitman arm 41 is provided with a transversely elongated abutting surface S1, a retaining member 37 installed movabley forward and backward by facing to the transversely elongated abutting surface S1 is provided with a transversely elongated retaining surface S2, the retaining member 37 is moved away from the pitman arm 41 when the auxiliary arm 21 is in an erectly stored form, and the retaining member 37 is moved closer to the pitman arm 41 when the auxiliary arm 21 is in the acting form, so that the transversely elongated retaining surface S2 is brought into surface contact with the transversely elongated abutting surface S1.
