PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To sufficiently absorb impact force by means of the plastic deformation of a body when the body receives large impact force from its front side at the collision of an automobile or the like. SOLUTION: The automobile is provided with a pair of left and right side members 9 extending in the lengthwise direction of the body 1, a pair of left and right front pillars 20 vertically extending and each having a lower end supported by a lengthwise intermediate part of the corresponding side member 9, a pair of left and right apron members 28 positioned upper than the respective side members 9 and projecting forward from the respective front pillars 20, and front fender aprons 30 installed on the side members 9 and the apron members 28 on the respective side parts of the body 1. When a virtual straight line 48 connecting the front and rear ends of at least one side surface within both side surfaces of the apron member 28 in the top view of the body 1 is set, recessed parts 49 are formed by recessing the intermediate part in the lengthwise direction of the apron member 28 in the one side surface more-than the virtual straight line 48.
