PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an embroidery sewing machine which can be easily and rapidly in cope with a case when a thread hooking part of a check member is worn. SOLUTION: In the first invention, in the lock stitch-type sewing machine for embroidery provided with a thread take up lever 7 for taking up a needle thread (a), a constitution wherein a thread taking-up member 25 is provided on a needle thread turning part 18 arranged on the upstream of the above thread take up lever 7 in a passage for the above needle thread (a) and a thread guiding body 30 is mounted on a passing-through part 31 of the needle thread of the thread taking-up member 25, is provided. In addition, in the second invention, in the lock stitch-type sewing machine for embroidery provided with the thread take up lever 7 for taking up the needle thread (a), a constitution wherein the thread guiding body 30 is mounted on a thread hooking part 43 of the thread taking-up member 25 arranged in the passage for the above needle thread (a), is provided.
