PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and a device capable of bending a wire in a substantially designed manner. SOLUTION: Before the bending work, the bend angle or the bend radius of the actual wire is measured with respect to the turning angle of a bend sleeve around a mandrel, and a plurality of these measuring points are obtained, and inputted in a computer. The measured values are plotted while the turning angle of the bend sleeve is put on one axis of the rectangular coordinates and the wire bend angle or the wire bend radius is put on the other axis, a graph is obtained by a line graph and/or a curve based on these points, and stored. In the bending work, the preset bend angle or bend radius is inputted in the computer, the turning angle of the bend sleeve is obtained from the graph, the signal corresponding to the turning angle is given to a turning motor of the bend sleeve, and the bend sleeve is turned to bend the wire.
