TRANSPARENT POLYMERIC MATERIAL AND ITS MANUFACTURING METHOD

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a polymeric material which contains inorganic fine particles and enables molding processing with stability, and particularly to obtain the polymeric material suitably useable in optical materials such as lens for glasses which can be made to have a high refractive index with transparency. SOLUTION: The polymeric material containing fine particles contains inorganic fine particles bonded to an organic polymer and has thermoplasticity or solvent solubility and substantially enables molding processing. The polymeric material containing the fine particles can be obtained by reacting a polymer having a functional group and thermoplasticity with a surface-modified semiconductor fine particles having a functional group capable of reacting with the functional group of the above polymer to form a bond, and has thermoplasticity or solvent solubility and substantially enables molding processing.
