PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cracking treatment method for hazardous materials capable of making the hazardous materials non-pollulting or low-toxicant by surely and cost effectively decomposing the hazardous materials not at a low decomposition rate and at a relatively low treatment cost without requiring large-scale equipment and enormous energy and the apparatus for the same. SOLUTION: The cracking treatment method for the hazardous materials which decomposes the hazardous materials by adding sodium hypochlorite to a material to be treated which contains the hazardous materials in the presence of a transition metal catalyst and alkaline material and the apparatus for the same.
