PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a manufacturing method for a coated steel plate by which the control accuracy of a coating film thickness of the obtained coated steel plate is significantly improved and thereby, the coated steel plate of a desired coating film thickness can be stably mass-produced on an industrial scale, when the coated steel plate is manufactured by coating a band steel with the help of a roll coater equipped with a pickup roll. SOLUTION: When the coated steel plate 10 is manufactured by coating the band steel 6 with the assistance of the roll coater 8 equipped with at least, the pickup roll 1 and an applicator roll 4, the irregular surface state of the pickup roll 1 is added as an arithmetic factor and the coating film thickness of the coating steel plate 10 is estimated. Further, the coating film thickness of the coated steel plate 1 is controlled based on the estimated coating film thickness.
