PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To control more correctly the working state of a printing drum which can be fitted removably to the main body of a printing machine. SOLUTION: The printing drum 2 fitted with stencil paper made into a plate can be fitted removably to the main body 1 of the printing machine, and a nonvolatile memory 25 is provided inside the drum. In the nonvolatile memory 25, the number of printed sheets and others are stored as 'information on the use of the drum'. When the printing drum 2 is mounted, a control means 5 of the main body 1 reads the 'information on the use of the drum' from the nonvolatile memory 25 and stores it in RAM 12. When printing is executed thereafter, the information on the number of printed sheets is renewed. When the printing drum 2 is removed, the 'information on the use of the drum' is renewed and written in the nonvolatile memory 25.
