PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a water softening device preventing corrosion due to regeneration salt water by allowing it to work on an ion exchange resin particle layer and being excellent in durability. SOLUTION: In this water softening device provided with a water discharge control valve which is closed at a time of feeding water through an ion removing means and is opened at a time of discharging regeneration salt water acted on the ion exchange resin particle layer, the water discharge control valve is provided with a diaphragm for receiving water pressures of city water and regeneration salt water, and a valve body for opening and closing a water discharge path linked with displacement of the diaphragm, and a spring for pressing the diaphragm in the direction of opening the valve is provided at a position isolated from the water discharge path by the diaphragm, thus corrosion of the spring due to regeneration salt water is prevented.
