PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a machining tank device for an immersion-type wire electric discharge machine, having reliable sealing and low moving resistance of the machining tank by sealing an opening for a lower arm formed on a seal plate arranged in the machining tank by a sealing means not rubbing against a lower arm. SOLUTION: A seal plate 22 arranged in a machining tank 1 maintains sealing of an oblong hole 24 formed on the side wall 23 in relation to the movement in the horizontal direction (x-axis direction and y-axis direction) of the machining tank 1. A part between the seal plate 22 and a lower arm 13 or a machining main body 9 is sealed by a flexible cylindrical body 40 extensible in the longitudinal direction. Even if sludge such as machine chips in machining fluid 2 is deposited on the lower arm 13, deterioration of sealing of the flexible cylindrical body 40 and the change of slide resistance of the machining tank 1 are few since the sludge does not rub against the flexible cylinder 40, and therefore, the machining tank 1 is smoothly moved, and machining precision of a workpiece W is improved.
