PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a continuous casting method with which a round cast billet having little center segregation and internal crack, and good shape can be obtained. SOLUTION: In a method for applying rolling reduction to the cast billet by using a first and a second rolling reduction roll pairs 5, 6, the diameter of the cast billet at the outlet side of a mold is 150-400 mm, and the rolling reduction rate with the first rolling reduction roll pair 5 is <=120 mm and the rolling reduction is applied at the rolling reduction rate satisfying the following formula (A) to control the fluidity of the concentrated molten steel in segregated component exhausted to the upstream side with the rolling reduction by using an electromagnetic brake device 8 arranged <=2 m apart on the upstream side of the first rolling reduction roll pair. 0.4<=R/L<=1.6...(A) Wherein, R: the rolling reduction rate (mm) applying the rolling reduction with the first rolling reduction roll pair, and L: the thickness (mm) in non-solidified part (range of <=0.99 solid phase ratio) at the position of the first rolling reduction roll pair.
