PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fluorescent device that displays a fluorescent image based on the fluorescent image transmitted form an observation site to which an excitation light is irradiated and secures the safety of a subject even when an abnormality that raises an output of the excitation light occurs in the source of the excitation light. SOLUTION: A portion 152 that controls an abnormality inputs the excitation light P1 from a photo-detector 118 at each specified tie, judges whether or not the outputted excitation light is higher than the established PS1 level before outputting a signal S1 for detecting an abnormality to a main controlling section 151 when the outputted excitation light P1 exceeds the established level of PS1. The main controlling section 151 halts the supply of a driving current to a semiconductor laser 115 of the GaN system as well as the irradiation of the excitation light L2, and warns of an abnormality that occurred in a display 162 that displayed a flurescent image at the same time. When the output of the excitation light L2 exceeds the established level due to the above effect, the irradiation of the excitation light L2 is prohibited, thus no excitation light in an energy density exceeding the specified level is irradiated to a subject.
