PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a buffer plate mechanism for a continuous paper printing device capable of preventing sheet return to the upstream in a sheet carrying direction when a sheet is not being carried, and preventing printing quality problems by an inexpensive method. SOLUTION: In this continuous paper printing device provided with a buffer plate 5 to absorb tension/loosening of the sheet, a means to press down the buffer plate 5 is provided for prohibiting the buffer late 5 from pressing the sheet when the sheet is not being carried.
