SOLUTION: An engine unit is characterized in that a cylinder head 46, a cylinder block 41, a crank case 48, and rear case 49 are sequentially combined, a crank shaft 61 is pivotally supported at a contact face A between the cylinder block 47 and the crank case 48, a counter shaft 72 is associated to the crank shaft 61 and pivotally supported at a contact face B between the crank case 48 and a rear case 49, the two contact faces A, B are made parallel to each other, and forms a right angle with a central axis D of a cylinder bore 62 formed in the cylinder block 47.
