PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To simplify the structure of a table while reducing the number of part items and making the effective service area of a top plate as wide as possible by enabling the table to be used in a seating state similar to a state in which a pair of desks are arranged face-to-face, and making the desks share an option mounting portion. SOLUTION: The table is in the form of a square on plan view, having a top plate 1 with at least two opposing sides serving as service ends 1a and 1b; an opening 31 in the form of a rectangle extending along the service ends is provided in the portion of the top plate located at approximately equal distances from the two sides. A lid 32 having wiring holes 33 therein is removably mounted in the opening 31.
