PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain cheap, low-phosphorus, specially made polished rice having a lower phosphorus content and a higher protein content, suitable as rice for medical care of a dialysis patient, and to provide a method for producing the same. SOLUTION: This low-phosphorus specially made polished rice is characterized in that the original form ratio of unpolished rice is >=65% and a phosphorus content contained in 100 g of rice is <=50 mg. This method for producing low- phosphorus polished rice is characterized in that unpolished rice is subjected to flattening processing and pounded by a pounding machine to make a pounding ratio <=25%, treated with a mixed aqueous solution of sodium chloride and acetic acid, and then washed with water/dried. |
