PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To perform wiper operation in accordance with sense of a driver especially at light rain. SOLUTION: In this control method for controlling the wiper driving device, light emitted from an emitting element is reflected on a detection surface, the reflected light is received by a light detecting element, and output reduction of the light detecting element is detected. Accordingly, based on a result of a detection device detecting a condition of the detection surface, when the detection device detects droplets, at least one wiper operation is added during a time when the wiper actuates and passes through the detection surface.
