PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To output a drive voltage having a desired waveform. SOLUTION: The driver of an ink jet recording head comprises a section 5 for controlling the drive voltage with prestored voltage waveform data, a variable voltage source 3 outputting a drive voltage based on a control signal from the control section 5, and a section 4 for measuring the voltage value of a drive voltage from the variable voltage source 3 and outputting the measurement to the control section 5. The control section 5 has a function for calculating the difference of inputted voltage values, a function for comparing the calculated difference of voltage value with the difference of voltage value at a constant voltage part before and after voltage variation of the voltage waveform data, a function generating correction data for generating a drive voltage close to the voltage waveform data when the differences do not match, and a function for outputting a control signal having the correction data to the variable voltage source.
