PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a coating material for improving sliding properties, which can be backed at a temperature lower than the melting point of a polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE) and can be employed for treating a metal plate, or the like, using an ordinary continuous coating apparatus for a precoated steel plate to inexpensively impart excellent sliding properties thereto, to provide its coating method, and a coated matter therewith, particularly a chute for an automatic vending machine exhibiting sliding properties in a high-temperature environment. SOLUTION: The coating material for improving sliding properties, comprising as a main component 95-50 mass% of a matrix resin having a film-forming temperature lower than the melting point of a PTFE and 5-50 mass% of at least two PTFE's having a different average particle size falling within 2-40μm, is applied on the surface of a material to be treated such as a metal plate, or the like, and is baked at a temperature lower than the melting point of the PTFE and higher than the film-forming temperature of the matrix resin. The resulting coated metal plate is suitably employed as a chute for an automatic vending machine excellent in sliding properties and abrasion resistance even in a high-temperature environment.
