PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a screw type waterless rice washing apparatus which has a relatively short shaft length and consequently does not especially require a wide installation space and is capable of providing sufficient rice washing efficiency. SOLUTION: The screw type waterless rice washing apparatus comprises a screw cylinder (2) and a screw (7) to be rotated in the screw cylinder (2). The screw (7) is so rotated that the flight scraper (9) of the screw is almost brought into contact with the inner circumferential wall (3) of the screw cylinder (2). The diameter in the periphery of the polished rice supply port (5) is larger than the diameter in the periphery of the discharge port (6) and the whole body is so formed as to be tapered or like a bevel gear.
