PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a structure for the front part of a vehicle capable of enhancing safety by composing a front fender with a relatively simple structure and by enhancing energy absorbing effect on a shock load acting nearly from the upper side of the fender to accomplish a stable energy absorption characteristic and thereby to reduce shock to an obstacle having collided with the fender. SOLUTION: A shock damping space 3 elongated nearly in the longitudinal direction of the vehicle is formed between the fender body 5 of the front fender 1 and the bonnet 2, a shock damping space member 6 having an outline nearly continuing to the outline shapes of the fender body 5 and the bonnet 2 is mounted in the shock damping space 3, and when the shock load acts on the shock damping space member 6 nearly from its upper side, the shock damping space member 6 is displaced downward by the shock load so that energy is absorbed.
