PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To protect a nonlinear element against breakdown due to heating of itself. SOLUTION: The ink jet recording head comprises a matrix circuit constituted by intersecting scanning side electrodes Y and information side electrodes X, nonlinear elements 1 arranged at the intersections of the scanning side electrodes Y and information side electrodes X of the matrix circuit, and resistive heaters 2 generating thermal energy for ejecting a liquid drop 9. The nonlinear element 1 has one end connected with the information side electrode X and the other end connected with one end of the resistive heater 2 having the other end connected with the scanning side electrode Y. The ink jet recording head has means 3 for cooling the nonlinear elements 1.
