A fastener (12), which has anchoring points on the outer surface (24), is located in a spindle drive unit (16) . The spindle is then rotated and moved in the axial direction until the fastener contacts the plastic component body (10), held in a support (18). Friction melts the plastic which then flows into cut-outs of the fastener and is allowed to cool before the spindle drive is retracted. The spindle is then rotated to a prescribed speed and moved in the axial direction until the fastener contacts a seat (14) of a plastic component body (10), held in a support (18). An Independent claim is also included for the process equipment which includes a spindle drive unit (16) with a system for accelerating to a prescribed speed, a mechanism for producing axial movement of the drive unit at a prescribed speed and a support (18) for the plastic component. |
