PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To inhibit deterioration of performance in the elimination of distortions, even [when a signal with a high level is inputted in an amplifier having distortion detection and detection eliminating loops. SOLUTION: In the distortion detecting loop, an inputted signal is distributed, one distributed signal is amplified by a main amplification circuit 3, and at the same time, the amplified signal and the other distributed signal are subjected to reverse-phase addition, thus detecting a distortion component generated in the main amplification circuit 3. In the distortion eliminating loop, a distortion component signal detected by the distortion detection loop is amplified by an auxiliary amplification circuit 8, and at the same time, the amplified signal and one outputted from the distortion detection loop are subjected to reverse- phase addition, thus eliminating the distortion component from the amplified signal. In such a configuration, a distortion generation circuit 21, provided at the front stage of the distortion detection loop, generates distortion for inhibiting the distortion generated in the auxiliary amplifying circuit 8, when a high-level signal is inputted.
