摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an exposure device and method capable of easily, accurately correcting the position and size of a phosphor layer and forming a desired fluorescent screen. SOLUTION: A light source 36 of the exposure device has a mercury arc lamp 42 emitting light to a photosensitive fluorescent screen forming material layer formed on the inner surface of a panel, and the mercury arc lamp 42 generates a discharge arc 44 almost parallel to the inner surface of the panel. An electromagnet 50 for generating a magnetic field almost vertically crossing the discharge arc is installed in the vicinity of the mercury arc lamp, and the electromagnet reversely turns the direction of the magnetic field by synchronizing with the period of polarity change of voltage applied to the mercury arc lamp and displaces the discharge arc to one direction.
