PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To stabilize the vibration isolating effect of a color selection mechanism in a cathode-ray tube and a display device. SOLUTION: This cathode-ray tube and display device comprises a color selection mechanism 252. In this color selection mechanism, the electrode thin plates for color selection 37 having a plurality of tape-shaped grid elements 39 disposed thereon are stretched on a frame 36, a plurality of damper wires 41 (41c, 41d, 41e) supported by damper springs 42 (42c, 42d, 42e) at different heights are installed on the electrode thin plates for color selection 37, and the vibration isolation of the tape-shaped grid elements 39 in all areas in the disposing direction is shared between the plurality of damper wires 42 (42c, 42d, 42e).
