PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enhance versatility and convenience of a broadcast service in a wired network. SOLUTION: In the stream information transfer processing unit (intervention router 2a) of this invention, a CPU 27 discriminates whether a packet received by network interfaces 21-24 is stream information, a start request packet, or an end request packet. When the packet is the start request packet, the CPU 27 registers its sender address to a broadcast management table 28 in cross- reference with a destination address read from the start request packet, also changes the sender address of the start request packet into its own address and transfers the start request packet. When the packet is the stream information, the CPU 27 refers to the broadcast management table 28 to specify the transmission destination and transfers the information to the destination. When the packet is the end request packet, the CPU 27 deletes the sender address registered in the broadcast management table 28. When the registration of the sender address is zero, the CPU 27 changes the sender address of the end request packet into its own address and forwards the packet. |
