PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce cumbersome operation caused by cords employed to a portable sound reproducing equipment. SOLUTION: An equipment main body 1 forming an ear suspended section 4 includes a memory card containing section that contains a memory card storing music data, a music data reading section that reads out the music data from the memory card being contained, and a speaker that emits musical sound according to the music data being read out. An earphone is connected to the equipment main body 1 through the cord 13. The cord 13 is wound into a cord winding section disposed in the equipment main body 1. A volume key 7, a reproducing/temporary-stop key 8 and a fast forward/backward key 9 are disposed on the outer surface of the equipment main body 1.
